The
Keogh Fellowship is a memorial to Clinical Associate Professor Edward
(Ted) J. Keogh MBBS FRACP PhD.
Ted Keogh, a foundation member, former President
and strong supporter of the Fertility Society of Australia, died
in Sydney in 1995 awaiting a heart/lung transplant. He was 53.
A talented clinician and clinical researcher,
Ted was Medical Director of the Reproductive Medicine Research Institute,
incorporating the Impotence Centre of Western Australia, Rosalie
Gollan Centre for Womens Health and Cryobiology Unit. He was
also Clinical Associate Professor, Department of Medicine, Sir Charles
Gardiner Hospital and the University of Western Australia.
The Board of the Reproductive Medicine Research
Institute, in association with the Raine Foundation of Western Australia,
established the Keogh Fellowship. Donations are called each year
for the fellowship.
Fellowship recipients undertake scientific research
at the Reproductive Medicine Research Institute for an initial period
of three years.
The first recipient of the Keogh Fellowship
was Karen Eidne, who is undertaking research at the Keogh Institute,
Queen Elizabeth ll Medical Centre, Perth.
Gifts are sought to help the Keogh Fellowship
to achieve a sustained campaign target of $1 million. Please consider
